DEPARTMENT OF ENGLISH
Brief History of the Department

The Department of English of Karmaveer Bhaurao Patil College has a great and magnificent history of fifty years. It is one of the departments which were established with the establishment of college. The U. G. was started in 1961 and P. G. got affiliation in 1972. This department has credit to teach English language and literature to all the graduates of this region since 1961.  It also rightly contributed in overall development of the college. The faculty and students of the department has carved their names in different social, political, cultural, economic and educational fields of the society and has initiated the identity of the College in the adjacent areas. At the beginning, the department was initiated by faculty like A. D. Attar, who learned in U. He also worked as the Principal of the college and left unforgettable memories of the administration and founded progressive and democratic set up of the administration. The memories of his administration are still there in the minds of a few teaching and non-teaching staff. Dr. N. D. Patil always shares the recollections of the beginning days of the college. Subsequently, C. T. Patil-Kulkarni, later joined the Arjun Nagar College, Mr. Ghate, joined Bank, worked in the department and contributed a lot to achieve the objectives of the educating the masses.
